Pay Per Visit vs Pay Per Impression: What You Really Buy
Impression-based advertising sells you a chance. You buy a thousand views of your banner, pay whether or not anyone looks, and hope that some fraction of those views becomes a click, and that some fraction of the clicks becomes a website visit. Each of those filters costs you money, and none of them is under your control. This is why two advertisers can spend the same amount on the same placement and end up with wildly different numbers of real visitors.
Run the arithmetic on a CPM buy and the gap becomes obvious. Suppose a thousand impressions cost a few dollars and half a percent of them are clicked: that is five clicks, of which perhaps three survive the trip to your site. Your cost per real visit is now several times the headline number you agreed to. Click-based buying removes one layer of that problem, but a click is still not a visit: misclicks, crawlers, double taps and pages that load slowly all get billed as intent you never received.
Per-visit pricing starts at the other end. You agree on a price for one real human arriving on your page, and you pay when that happens. On RealTraffic it is a flat $0.05 per real visit, drawn from a prepaid balance, with no auction and no charge for impressions or clicks that never became a visitor. Your balance is your ceiling: $25 means about 500 visits, and you can stop whenever the numbers stop making sense.
Choose the model that matches your goal. Impressions suit brand awareness with a large budget and a long horizon. Clicks suit campaigns where intent and search context matter more than volume. Per-visit pricing suits anyone who needs measurable visitors at a predictable price: a new site that needs traffic today, a store testing three landing pages, or a marketer who wants cost per conversion in their own analytics rather than a platform's estimate.
